Degree Title:
BA Honours, Major in ID with Area of Emphasis in Economic and Business Development

I am currently in my fourth year of International Development Studies, my area of emphasis being Business and Economic Development. Over the course of my undergraduate I have developed a passion for food security, and have had the opportunity to participate in research projects with graduate students and faculty on campus, as well as pursue an internship in India surrounding their national food/nutrition social protection policy framework. Both of these opportunities likely would not have been possible without the strong academic foundation I received through my studies with IDS.

I could not have asked for a better undergraduate experience: studying ID at the University of Guelph has exposed me to a broad range of issues, topics, and research in International Development that has completely altered the way I perceive our world. I can proudly say that I have a much deeper and more nuanced understanding of the various processes that encourage and impede development, as well as a newly acquired love of learning, and I owe this to IDS at the University of Guelph. After graduation I hope to pursue a master’s degree in International Development Studies, followed by a career in global policy, specifically in relation to agriculture, nutrition, and the empowerment of rural and indigenous communities both in Canada and abroad.
