Degree Title:
Master's in Political Science with International Development Studies
Graduation Date:
2013

My experience in the IDS graduate program at the University of Guelph resulted in both personal and academic growth. Seminar classes provided an interactive and multimedia framework for learning between students, Profs, and guest speakers. Outside of classes, I really enjoyed the Speaker Series and the Brown Bag Lunch Series which really connected students to leading-edge and innovative solutions to international development issues. Although I was unable to receive external funding for field research, the IDS Faculty very much supported my research in sport and development for girls in the Middle East, and they often notify me of any similar research opportunities outside of the University. I feel grateful to have also made life-long friends in the program, which I’m sure I’ll collaborate with in future development projects. I came with many questions, but the program instilled in me many more that I hope to explore now that I have graduated.
